5. Release the rope from the machine’s rope grab (the safety

device is now formed by the TIBLOC which is attached to the

harness by the short sling). The ActSafe PME is now loose and

you can hang down, still connected to your harness.

6. Place one foot in the longer sling and “step up”. While you

are standing up tighten the rope through the I’D. Your weight is

now taken by the I’D and the TIBLOC is unburdened.

7. Disengage the TIBLOC and begin the descent.

This technique is also employed when the machine is used

to ascend to a work situation during construction, i.e. the

machine will transport you up, but before the work

commences, re-attachment in preparation of the descent is

done.
